Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ZakatBooks — how Zakat is calculated, how we approach sharia compliance, which currencies are supported, and how cancellation, refunds and data security work.

Is ZakatBooks certified as sharia compliant?

Not "certified" by a single body — that's deliberate. Our methodology is cross-checked against AMJA fatawa, AAOIFI standards, and contemporary fiqh papers. We publish the methodology openly so any imam or scholar in the community can audit our logic. Certification by one body would limit us; transparency lets the whole ummah verify.

How is Zakat calculated?

We follow the majority contemporary fiqh position: 2.5% of Zakatable wealth above nisab, held for one lunar year (hawl). For businesses, Zakatable wealth includes cash, receivables likely to be paid, inventory at market value, and crypto holdings. You pick your madhab during onboarding and we adjust jewelry treatment, debt deductions, and inventory rules accordingly.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel in one click from your dashboard. No retention calls, no cancellation surveys, no friction. Your data stays exportable for 30 days after cancellation.

What currencies are supported?

USD, GBP, EUR, AED, SAR, PKR, IDR, MYR, TRY, CAD, AUD, INR, and BDT at launch — plus crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT). New currencies added based on user requests. Multi-currency views require Pro tier.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. All data encrypted at rest and in transit. We don't sell your data, we don't train AI on it, and you can export everything as PDF or CSV at any time. We host on infrastructure compliant with international data standards.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes — 7 days, no questions, no conditions. Email support and you'll have your refund within 3 business days.
